Share Every Sunday is Memorial Day Sun, May 28, 2017 by Freddie Banks Passage: Luke 22:19 Tomorrow is a day of honor and remembrance. We will remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in order that we may enjoy the freedom we often take for granted. Let us not think of tomorrow only in terms of it being part of a three-day weekend from work or just another excuse to barbecue. We must remember the true reason for Memorial Day--to remember our fallen heroes. Each Sunday, we also have an opportunity to commemorate, honor and remember Him who secured for us the ultimate freedom--salvation--when He took our sins to the Cross. The message for today contained wisdom that can be applied to everyone, young and old. Suicide rates are climbing among teens. Seasoned adult saints cannot look beyond the fact that children go through problems. Look at the world in which they are growing up. It is a rough place. Adults have to be mindful of the issues facing our children and support and guide them accordingly. Hebrews 10:25 (KJV) encourages the saints to attend church: "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching". Other than hearing the Word of God, what is a key benefit of attending church? The answer is simple. All of us come from different backgrounds and have different experiences. There is a good chance that whatever you are going through, someone at your church has been through it and can help you. As adults should be supporting each other in the church, so too should they be supporting the children. Share
